広東省・鳳凰山エリアは烏龍茶の最古の産地とされ、樹齢700年以上でまだ『現役』の茶樹も健在です。
『鳳凰』は産地である鳳凰山系の地名からきており、
『単叢』とは『一本一本の茶樹の味が違う』と言う意味で、杏仁単叢や蜜蘭単叢など、実に５０種類以上の品種が栽培されており、それぞれの品種の『元祖』の茶樹があり、それから枝分けしたクローンが生産量の主体を占めています。
極東雑貨の鳳凰単叢は『蜜蘭単叢』と呼ばれる品種で、鳳凰山系の中でも名産地として名高い烏東山で栽培され、丁寧な火入で白い花、蜂蜜、桃のような甘い香りを引き出した一品です。又、3年の熟成で味と香りの一体感が増し、極上の烏龍茶としてお楽しみ頂けます。
体を温める作用が強いお茶で、肌寒い朝や、エアコンの下にいなければいけない時に最適です。
Original name: Feng Huang Dan Cong
Feng Huang (Phoenix) is the name of mountains reknowned for being oldest oolong-producing region in the world, with some tea trees being more than 700 years old.
Dan Cong means "Single Bush" - there are more than 50 varietals of phoenix oolongs, each with unique aroma/flavour profile, and each can be traced to single original tea tree.
Our Dan Cong is Mi Lang Xian, or "Nectar Orchid aroma" variety, cultivated in mt Wu Dong - perhaps the most famous mountain in whole Phoenix range.
Light fermentation and medium firing bring in sweet aroma of honey and peaches, while 3 years of aging under proper conditions add integrity and complexity to flavour. A very warming tea perfect for chilly morning, or to get You through the summer day under air conditioner.
